Cherry Tree Speech & Language Services
My Experience
I received my graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology 14 years ago while my kids were toddlers. While challenging, this gave me the unique perspective of watching speech and language develop with a mother's heart and a clinician's eye. My two girls are now very communicative teenagers who present new and different challenges.
I am certified with Speech and Audiology Canada and hold active memberships with both Speech and Hearing BC and the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC. I am also on the Registry of Autism Service Providers.
I have worked in public health, schools, child development centers and have been the proud owner of a successful private practice since 2014.
I see children of all ages who experience issues with speech intelligibility, language comprehension and/or language expression. These issues may be developmental, due to ASD, or other diagnoses. I pride myself on providing fun and interactive therapy services guided by my clients' interests and strengths.
Parent participation in the session and at home is encouraged.

Testimonials
"Our son was 3 years old and unable to speak like other kids his age when we first came for treatment with Karen. Within months our son was speaking! Then Karen helped him make additional strides forward with aspects of his speech such as pronunciation. This is a process and it isn't always easy on the child or the family but Karen made it much easier for us because she is a patient and caring professional. We highly recommend her services!"

"I would highly recommend Karen from Cherry Tree! She has a tremendous amount of kindness and patience. I couldn't believe how quickly my son started speaking and improving. He went for about 1.5 years and he still talks about her.

"Our son has been seeing Karen for some time now and continues to make great progress in his speech. Unlike most of the therapies we have tried, he really enjoys his sessions at Cherry Tree. This makes all the difference--he just thinks of it as fun time. Karen puts lots of effort into giving us tools and exercises to work with at home too. This really multiplies the benefits we receive."
